Long awaited, the Office of the National Coordinator finally issued the final rules for meaningful use of certified EHRs today. Please see the link below for the final rules.

WASHINGTON – The HIT Standards and Policy Committees have scheduled meetings, with meaningful use still on the radar.
The HIT Standards Committee will meet Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT. The agenda includes an update to the meaningful use quality measure grid. A discussion of privacy and security and standards implementation will follow. Lee Jones, program manager of the Health Information Technology and Standards Panel will identify implementation specifications and discuss the maturity taxonomy process and issues regarding adoption of standards and incentives….

The Certification Commission for healthcare information technology has announced that it will launch new certification programs on Oct. 7. CCHIT officials announced Tuesday they will offer an updated comprehensive electronic health record certification program, called CCHIT Certified 2011, as well as a modular certification program – called Preliminary ARRA 2011 – that is limited to the standards for qualifying EHR technology under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). …
